The brief
More experience from less space.
The starting point was an existing car-wash area at a Huntingdon garden centre. The site needed to become a full-sized attraction without losing the convenience of its retail setting. The challenge was to fit 18 distinct holes into a restricted footprint while keeping the route comfortable for players of different ages and abilities.
An Aztec and Central American rainforest theme gave the new course a clear identity. It also created opportunities for the build team to turn practical site constraints into part of the adventure.
01 / The ground
Building up, not digging down.
The existing hardstanding shaped the construction strategy. Rather than excavating, the course was built above it. Blockwork borders with a rendered, stone-like finish formed durable edges and helped establish the changes of level needed for varied play.
02 / The character
Making every feature earn its place.
A retained container became a cave, while existing canopy supports were worked into tree-like features. Artificial playing grass, planting and scenic details linked the holes into a coherent environment without asking the small site to do more than it could.

The result
A destination within a destination.
The finished course makes a former service area feel like a separate visitor experience while remaining connected to the garden centre. Themed features give the route variety, and accessible circulation lets a broad audience enjoy the full round.
