The brief
A new chapter beside an existing course.
The client wanted an 18-hole adventure golf addition alongside an established 12-hole minigolf course at Dobbies Garden Centre in Peterborough. The new experience needed a strong identity of its own and a connection to the area’s Roman past, including nearby Durobrivae.
That historical starting point became a broad, accessible theme rather than a history lesson. The course was planned for mixed groups, families and players who wanted a more involved putting challenge.
01 / The idea
Roman landmarks turned into play.
A volcano, bath, amphitheatre-style setting and working aqueduct give the route a sequence of recognisable moments. The aqueduct carries the ball over water, making the theming part of the gameplay rather than only a backdrop.
02 / The construction
Built to welcome more players.
The layout combines durable playing surfaces and rounded course borders with paths and lowered entry and exit points. Scenic makers and artists added the details that make each feature distinctive, while the underlying construction keeps the course practical for frequent use.

The result
A different adventure every round.
The completed course gives the destination a second, clearly differentiated golf offer. Its landmarks create memorable moments and alternative playing lines, encouraging both casual visitors and keen minigolfers to explore the route again.
